7th Chinese-German Forum for Application-oriented Higher Education
On 11 September, the 7th Chinese-German Forum for Application-oriented Higher Education took place in Hangzhou. The forum was organized by the Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, the Zhejiang Province Education Department and the National Applied Technology University Alliance. More than 300 heads of schools, experts and scientists from nearly 100 universities of applied sciences in China and Germany as well as representatives from business and industry came together to discuss new proposals for university reform.
At the invitation of the Conference Organizing Committee, SGAVE CoC was able to participate in the event and contribute a presentation on “SGAVE – Exploring an Innovative Way in Vocational Education and Training”. As one of the platforms for dialogue between China and Germany, the Chinese-German Forum has been held every two years since 2007. It is organized by Chinese and German universities. Under the motto “Integration of Production and Education, Collaborative Education and Quality Improvement”, the conference dealt with the following topics:
- Training of skilled workers
- application-oriented research
- Transformation of research results
- collaborative innovations from government, universities, business and industry.
The 7th Chinese-German Forum for Application-Oriented Higher Education again has been a successful conference for all participating universities and, in addition to the technical and content-related topics, also offer plenty of space for discussions between the guests and organisers involved.
