The design and exchange meeting of Jiaxing SGAVE Innovation Center project

The expert group of Jiaxing Sino-German Automotive Vocational Educator (SGAVE) Innovation Center conducted a two-day program design exchange meeting and research activities at the Zhejiang College of Tongji University on April 27-28.

Nearly 20 leaders and experts from Jiaxing education bureau, Chinese secretariat of SGAVE project, Zhejiang College of Tongji University, Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College, Jiaxing Technical College and two enterprises (Futian Jiaxing automobile investment company and Kaisheng technology co., LTD.) attended the meeting. At the meeting, Mr. Brix, deputy secretary general of the SGAVE Chinese secretariat, gave a detailed introduction of the SGAVE project from China’s vocational education strategy, SGAVE background,the blueprint of innovation center, certificate system and other aspects. Highlighted the innovative features of the SGAVE project in Jiaxing, as well as the local implementation needs and plans. Participants discussed the requirements for professional talent training of SGAVE project and how to effectively carry out school-enterprise cooperation and integration of work and study.

After the meeting, the SGAVE project team visited three secondary, vocational and undergraduate schools and two enterprises in Jiaxing.

The SGAVE project team visited three schools, visited their teaching and infrastructure facilities, and had discussions with school leaders and key teachers. We exchanged views on the future jobs and direction of graduates majoring in automobile, the school’s early planning and development expectation of SGAVE project, the school’s requirements , the goal plan and management system of teacher training, and the future cooperation plan. The leaders of Jiaxing education bureau and the leaders of various colleges expressed the hope that through the participation of SGAVE project, we could make joint efforts to train domestic first-class talents with high quality and high skills in automobile industry.

The SGAVE project group also visited two well-known enterprises located in Jiaxing, conducted interviews with relevant managers from each company, further understood the skill requirements and standards of talents needed by the enterprises, as well as the number of job positions, etc., and had in-depth communication with each enterprise on the understanding and cooperation of SGAVE project. Leaders and members of the SGAVE project’s group both reported many gains and new ideas from the exchange. We believe that through the promotion of SGAVE project, the participation and effectiveness of school-enterprise cooperation will be continuously enhanced.

Through two days of meetings and discussions, as well as field visits and interviews with schools and enterprises, the SGAVE project group conducted sufficient research work and obtained the expected research results, which laid a solid foundation for the specific program design of SGAVE innovation center in Jiaxing.
