SGAVE IT Platform

With the SGAVE IT platform, we at the Competence Centre for Vocational Education at Tongji University are introducing a system that step by step supports all aspects of the development of high-quality vocational schools. These functions and contents of the SGAVE IT platform range from the presentation of our SGAVE system to training content for teachers and students, as well as functions that record quality factors and statistical values.

In the last weeks, the SGAVE IT platform has been delivered to the first 10 SGAVE partner schools. The SGAVE-specific curriculum for the profession of automotive mechatronics is already integrated. Work is already underway on the training contents for classroom and practical instruction. The online training content will be gradually integrated and will be available to SGAVE teachers. In connection with our SGAVE IT platform, it is important to us to develop action and competence-oriented teaching in e-learning as well. The SGAVE curriculum gives us the necessary structure to orient ourselves.

With today’s training on the SGAVE IT platform, we are starting a training series to qualify the first 25 teachers at the first 10 SGAVE partner schools. In the first step we will deal with topics for creating courses and course content, managing participants and reporting. Once our instructors are familiar with the system’s technical features, we will offer courses that focus on the design and development of e-learning and blended learning courses. This content will also be incorporated into our existing teacher certification program.

We are pleased about the active participation of the teachers in the first training course on the SGAVE IT platform and look forward to the next 20 SGAVE schools and to a systematic introduction of an IT Platform for vocational education.
